The base assault/defence is one of the most common game types played on just about every commercial laser combat and paintball field in the world. There are numerous variations but they're all essentially the same.

OK, why do the teams have to be split into thirds? Most fields just break them into half and go from there.

Another thing why do you call it a rush game? From my experiences trying to rush a fortified postion against an enemy with twice as many gunners as you, is just pointeless. You will be dead before you get 10 metres to the bunker. Or be there for hours trying to loosin them up.

Have another think about it. Maybe try to invent a game like:

2 teams, each end, both have a synced timer at each end.

win conditions: 1 alive player from team A at the team B side, the player must stop the clock, and have a time showing lower than the team B game clock.


...e.g. Team A Shoots 4 of the 5 team B players (one remaining team B player), with one remaining team A player.

Both players race to stop their clocks on each others opposite ends.

Team A stops their clock at 4 minutes 34 seconds. Team B stops their clock at 4 minutes 11 seconds.

Team B wins with one person remaining.


Lose conditions: Your team is wiped out with no remaining member to stop the clock.


You can see how this would work pretty well. Or i think it would. You would be able to push out games in less than 10 minutes. On any field. And the game is not limited to numbers that can play. You could have teams from 4 people through to 200. The only thing that would change is the game time.

You could also do this game for much tighter tournament style play. Where each alive player has a points value, and a win has a points value aswell.

And have an award for the team that played the day with the fastest time.

The only downside is that to make this game playable the respawns have to either be made to nil or very limited.

But i think it would be a very full on game. A true rush game.
