With the Victorians about to embark on a MilSim-type session, it got me thinking about a long-term event between states (Qld vs The South - or similar).

The first event would be to set the scene for following events - each event being (at least) 6 months apart. Whereby, the winner of the first event is then deemed the occupiers, and the following event would see the loosing team 'invade' or form an insurgency against the current occupiers.

So, say Qld wins the first event (naturally ). For the next event, the Southern states would have to attack and control a number of pre-determined key objectives in an attempt to gain control of the battlefield, until the time limit has been reached.
With Qld (for example) being the occupying force, they would have to spread themselves thin, initially, securing all sights before any initial attack, as the first objective to be assaulted would be up to the opposition force.

Potentially, the disputed territory could ping-pong as far as which faction (or state) is in control at the end of the event. Or, it could be a stale-mate, with the next event starting with each faction carrying on with the number of objectives they controlled from the previous game.
