Here's a battle report of my teams worst in game disaster, ever... and will always be, most likely. If not, we're in for some deep poop.
We were fighting in an indoor arena, that was arranged as a 2 level maze structure. During a break, we were studying the arena map, plotting our strategy. We noticed a gut bend in the first floor, and remembering our previous success with such a layout, we opted on a 3 way ambush. Team A would pile in, while team B would lead the enemy through our position. Team C, was to take a sniper position up some stairs behind where team A would be hiding. Team B was then to rendezvous with team C. It was supposed to be a massacre for them... It wasn't. We got in the arena and ran like all get out. Team A, which I was leading, approached the area, realizing that it was nothing like on the map. We made the best of the area, and hid in some nearby crevaces. We heard footsteps coming to our position. One of my team was supposed to check with team B to see if the enemy was following, so I signalled to him to go out. I saw him exit his cover, and he just froze. That's when the first red light went on in my head. Our scout was shot to pieces, and further investigation revealed that team B was gone - i.e. completely destroyed - and the entirety of the yellow team, all 20 of them, was ten feet away. 20 to 5, not good odds. We stood our ground, and by that, I mean we ran like the devil himself was behind us. Remarkably, we made it to team C, lost the other team, with only 1 other casualty, and took two to three of them with us! But we werent out yet, as I realized that the map was wrong again. We were stuck in a corner, on the second story. Not good - the second red light went on. We were able to have C snipe for a bit, with A providing front cover. Then I saw red lights down the stairs in front of us. And then, team yellow was advancing the other stairs. We were outnumbered 8 to 25ish. No exaggeration. Realizing we had no chance. We hid until the yellow vs red melee began, and we split for it, running right through the middle. We lost six of us, me and one other left. The other teams were nailed too. Yellow was gone, and red had five left. Fortunately, we had the phsycological advantage. I was pissed due to the loss of my whole team, and the other guy was pissed because one of the six we just lost was his girlfriend. Poor guy. We decided after a moment of insanity, to charge em! I killed two, but was shot at point blank by the other three, opening up them for supressive fire. I gotta hand it to the other guy, three shots, three kills. The mortality rates: Red - 100% Yellow - 100%, Blue - 95%! The sole survivor I had promoted to a Lieutenat in my team for his valiant actions. But we had won - though at terrible cost... But we still had won!
