There's 2 sets of hand signals on the intel page of milsimsolutions.com...........probably pansy American special police teams.
Who was the person who said they were doing SWAT training? How about posting up your hand signals and comms procedures - I'm sure it wouldn't be a security risk.......well pretty sure anyway..... ;-)

We will see how pansy it is when we knock down your door, throw in a flashbang and have you cuffed on the floor, crying, with soiled panties, in less than 5 seconds.

Has anyone actually viewed the link I submitted? The reason why I am calling them 'pansy' will become apparent....

oh i saw it, real funny. I'd watch it Dangerous, we got nukes and stuff. Or worse than that, the government might send me after you.

OMFG, ROFL!
That is some funny ^%$#%# right there..... my buddy (an Oakland CA SWAT team sgt.) is gonna love this.... :D
"Be Quiet for Once In Your Goddamed Lives, Already" -- that one is going into the tactical operations manual for sure!
Omg I can't believe you brought Steve Irwin into this, I swear a crocodile is just gonna go screw it and swallow him whole one day... I hope.
Haha Yea-mean showed me those pics.

Never thought that being a silly MF could make you so famous.
hmmm...
someone should make the Steve Irwin book of hand signals. One hand can be
signaling, but he'll always have a croc latched on to a limb somewhere.
Gorgeous!!

Yeah that usually happens when Paris Hilton is involved. :p

SWAT hand signals are pretty much the same as the military but they vary from each department. Each team has some signals that they invent for certain things. It is not uniform across the board.

I imagine that we can sort this argument out soon enough. Well, if Leo still plans to pay us a visit and hasn't gotten scurred...
Oh, and for the record... Tunde doesn't sleep. He is a freak of nature that has no use for the rejuvinating effects of a nice slumber.
Tunde
27-11-2004, 12:56 PM
Sleep, food, shelter is for the weak. All i need is my field knife and I will be fine. Who needs sleep when you can hang upside down blindfolded trying to field strip and put back togeter your weapon in record time.

Or change out chips in an arsenal, or drain and recharge batteries in an aresenal, or sight in an arsenal...all in record time! (overnight LOL ) This is why Tunde is my right hand man! I need sleep. :D

Thorin
10-12-2004, 09:31 AM
I know why you have Irwin's number on speed-dial. You fancy his missus. You know, the one that can't act.

I think you have that backwards, maybe she fancies me. I mean everyone has to have that booty call number. So while Stevey is off wrestling crocs in the wild, well i don't like where I'm headed with this. It was gonna be something about Alabama and snakes fmj we all know what i'm talking about. I'm just gonna stop this while i still can.
PS, we are long, long way from hand signal. I'm blaming Leo for the record
fukkenuziman
10-12-2004, 06:20 PM
yeah, since we can't make FULL sense of Tunde's rantings... we'll just blame Leo! Good plan... :D
That's it. Blame the innocent one. I know a good hand signal for this situation! :furious:
Tunde
11-12-2004, 12:39 PM

Thorin
12-12-2004, 01:22 PM

:furious: Yeah I'll remember that.
Are you coming up on Sunday?

Well, I got a nice joke about hand signals but I'll have to tell you the punchline when you get to Arizona.
Q:What did the five fingers say to the face???
What are you talking about Thorin, I'm always nice. Everyone knows that.
Tunde, I'm not sure I'll be coming to shoot (with) you for quite a while.

Tunde
17-12-2004, 05:07 AM

so you're not coming? Are you scared? I bet you are.
You're so funny Thorin. How many guns does GC have? Thought so. How much business does GC get? Thought so. :)
Tunde: I wish I could come but apparently plans have changed. :(
Thorin
18-12-2004, 04:21 PM
How many clan members does GC have that anr't scared to participate in an inter-city war? Thought so.
On second thoughts, how many clans does brissie have at all? I believe it's nothing compared to us. And I agree with you about the number of guns GC has currentlly ... 45, I think. But generally speaking, almost all of them are used almost every session, so as for business, GC does pretty well.
Pity you weren't at the mini tourney on Sunday, then.
Thorin
22-12-2004, 02:28 PM
I'll admit it is a shame I couldn't attend, but duty called. I was going to come, but I was down in Braodbeach, living the good life with an indoor pool, spa, sauna, steam room, gym, outdoor pool and tennis court.

24-12-2004, 01:31 AM
Oh and BTW... Tunde and I had to bust out using hand signals this past weekend. We were running some urban missions at night with an elite crew. Well, Tunde's radio died and we were left without coms, so we had to go old skewl from then on out. We ended up taking the opposing force down and knowing we did it without coms made the victory that much sweeter!
<edit>
Oh, and it was only Tunde and I vs. 5 others. Just re-validating that we kick ass!

Tunde

Everybody knows that the Colonel is used to refer to KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken for the yanks). The 'slang' is delevoped by advertising agencies of the corporate giants.
Tunde
24-12-2004, 12:10 PM
well, no one in the States has ever reffered to Mickey D's as macca. But whatever works in oz, i suppose

Tunde
24-12-2004, 03:32 PM
Dude, i swear, if you had been able to come to the states and calle McDonalds MACCA no one would have known what you were talking about. Then when you told us, we would have laughed our asses off at you until you started to cry. Then we would have laughed at you crying like a little pansy.
Stone
24-12-2004, 07:34 PM
Umm no actually.. most yanks i know from games n shit they all know the slang word macca's becuase of us aussies spreading the word so if you had a of laughed i would have given you and your posse the 1 fingerd salute then while your laughing if i ahd the avlible rescources i would have snapped a metal bar over your head and then i would have stolen your wallet..
..|.,
You guys are so stupid. It's maccas, everyone calls it maccas... even the old farts. So meh.

Tunde
25-12-2004, 01:58 PM
Stone, you forget one thing. I got guns and know how to use em. Your metal pole would be on the ground laying in a pool of your blood before you knew what hit you. Thats beyond th point though, the point is most Americans have never heard of it called maccas.
Blah blah metal poles, guns, who cares. Again, you guys are so stupid. Arguing over what to call a fast food restaurant has come to blabbing about weapons, violence and other crap. Pfft, males.
Tunde
26-12-2004, 08:12 AM
There is no argument. Just reminding who he is dealing with, and he'd be wise not to forget it. I was also just letting ya'll know Americans don't call it macas. Plain and simple.
Stone
26-12-2004, 04:32 PM

this has totaly gone away from the topic of hand signals, i might split it.
Does anyone even know where the one fingered salute originated from? Probably not.
Thorin
27-12-2004, 10:01 AM
I know where the 1 finger salute and the 2 finger salute is from, both from the same era. 13 centuary france.
hm come on then, what's the full story?
Dangerous
27-12-2004, 10:26 AM
Yes, please split. I think it was only the first two or three posts that were actually on topic. The rest could be entitled "Weapons, Macca's and Testosterone".
BaalZBub
27-12-2004, 12:32 PM
The 2 finger salute was a gesture the English longbowmen would give to their French enemies accross the field of battle. The reason was, as the English were defeated, the French would cut-off the two fingers required to pull back the English longbow from all captured longbowmen (preventing them from ever being a longbowmen again). So as a gesture of defiance the English would greet the French with the gesture 'See, I still have mine'.
Thorin
27-12-2004, 04:28 PM
Actually they cut off one finger, the index finger. The French would taunt the English with the 1 finger salute to say "This is all you will have when we are finished with you"
I heard it was because the English invented a patch to go over their index finger when they were arching, so it didn't scrape and cut the skin... and that they flaunted their un-scathed fingers in a way which has come to be known as the 'one fingered salute'.
Thorin
27-12-2004, 06:05 PM
No, it's the French thing. Besides, the fingertab ( patch you are talking about) covered all shooting fingers, so the middle finger would be covered too. And I would not be suprised if the ring finger was used during shooting too, because I shoot a 52 pound longbow and it's hard enough with 3 fingers, let alone two. And the English were shooting bows at 110 pounds. Thats why most of them were deformed. 1 side of their body became really built up and the other didn't. Anyway, thats my history lesson over.
Rommel
28-12-2004, 12:00 AM

I suppose this thread is back on topic now. There really are all sort of things we communicate by hand gestures. Like the military salute, and the handshake. Most people don't know what the original meaning of a lot of customary hand gestures are.
Tunde
31-12-2004, 07:57 PM
Like the two things i just mentioned. The military salute and the handshake.
fukkenuziman
01-01-2005, 06:37 AM
Perhaps a more practical origin of the handshake comes from medieval Europe, where kings and knights would extend their hands to each other, and grasp the others hand as a demonstration that each did not possess concealed weapons and intended no harm to the other
Tunde
01-01-2005, 07:27 AM
The military salute comes from Knights also.

Colin

Troughs are a mans saviour! Go to any big event (like a concert of something) and check out the womans line for the toilets. Us men barely have to wait for a toilet and the woman have to wait ages! I say YAY for the troughs!
Andy in Indy
05-01-2005, 06:22 AM
The military salute comes from Knights also.
It comes from the lifting of a helmet visor so that you could verify that the person in the armor was who they appeared to be.

Not a hand gesture, but I know where the "cheers" gesture comes from. Anciant Rome. There was rumours that there would be an assasination attempt on a nobleman at a dinner party with poison in the wine.. So, when all the wine had been poured, he walk around to every guest and did the "cheers" gesture. While he did so, he poured alittle of his wine in the persons glass, so if they didn't drink the wine, they knew it was poisioned and the nobleman would arrest them. There's alittle useless information for ya all.
