Hi all
Some of you may remember me from my visit mid last year.
I was mainly known as "that Adelaide guy" :P
2 Worlds is now up and running in Adelaide.
Did I read correctly that nationals are being looked at?
Half my players would be into that :)

Welcome back to the forums! Hope u stay...
Indeed, one of the things we are trying to do with RearEchelon (once it is open at the end of this month) is to organise a National (and maybe even international sometime) tournament.
Of course this will take a lot of co-operation between the states, and a lot of organisation is between now and when it happens which we are aiming at late 2004 to early 2005, i believe.

Very cool
I've been thinking lots about a national comp, asked plan heaps about organising one but looks like he's pretty damn busy.
I read about this game format from a paintball mag that would work great.
Its similar to the boardgame RISK
Each state represents a country.
Each President gets $70,000
Vice-Presidents get $50,000
Generals get $20,000 and their
Lieutenants get $10,000
Each countries president is also issued a gold certificate, which can be sold on the open market. A roll of a dice determines the value of the certificate. The object being buy low, sell high. Colour co-ordinated chips are used in place of paper game dollars.
$50,000 buys the services of NATO forces, an elite merc team.
A nuclear warhead will set the country back $150,000,
Holding Flag Stations at set times earn Pesidents more money
Still needs a bit more fleshing out but hopefully you get it.
What do you think as a national game?

What???
I have no idea about that.
I was thinking something like the following:
Each operator determines which of their clans is the better, or multiple if they wish.
Each of these 'elite' clans then goes to a mutually agreed field and plays other clans.
This involves concepts like:
1. Airtravel
2. Running
3. Lasertag
4. Money (ie AU $)

was just an idea
as i said it still needs fleshing out
doesn't hurt to brainstorm, besides could still work with 2 best clans from each state.

Maybe there could be a few tournies. Using your ranking system you could set 2 main skill levels. 1 skill level per tournie.
For example:
Team A is at level 1 (intermediate) and can only play in the intermediate tournie against other level 1 teams.
Team D is at level 2 (elite) and can only play in the intermediate tournie against other level 2 teams.
And the team that wins at the level 2 tournie can go to the International Level.

Yes, I
was thinking of something like that.
Regarding clans playing other clans, I was wondering if some kind of formula was used, so that when you had clans playing, you ended up with a ratio, something similar to
1:1, or
1:2 etc
rounded to the nearest whole number.
This ratio would determine if the game you were playing could be regarded as an official game.
More in my National Ranking System...
