View Full Version : Karingal - New Areas for Christmas

plan

Hey Guys, over the next couple of weekends, the scouts will basically desert Karingal, that means we can set up down the back, especially the area where the clan war was played. Between the bridges and the hill, there some great places to play.

This Sunday Bajer is running the open, so I expect it will be mean and nasty!

sounds great always love playing in new areas

It would be cool to play in a different area than Cooinda. I guess the only negative thing about this Sunday would have to be the Badger.

Lets just say that it would have been the worst session ever if we didn't play the last mission which was a very
large death match with teams of 3.

The weapons were crap. Most of them rattled and we had a lack of good quality pulses and moritas.

The missions that we played were well suited for the idiot n00bs that were there. I was trying to work out if the mental asylum let them out for the weekend.

Does that sound fun?

I can't understand why there was a lack of weapons. I know about 25 went to t-Park for the private group, but hey there should have left about 50+ weapons including Moritaw (about 8) and Pulse Rifles etc. There should have been about 3 guns for every player which is considerable choice.

Hopefully in 2 weeks we will have 28 x Berserker Mark II's with Red Dot scopes in action. Given the popularity of the prototype, I'm hopefull these will go some way to meet our immediate gun needs in large sessions.

The answer Rommel is to get some new regular clans going again, something we plan to do in the new year with some special clan deals and offerings. This is something Lateo and I are discussing

Bajer would have chosen missions to suit the group, all session managers do that. If we have experienced players we do challenging multi-phase missions and if thery are inexperienced mostly we do simple missions.

i think rommel the key to the type of mission u want is going to be getting regualr clans together, really u should put ur own clan togther

Rommel
26-12-2003, 05:02 PM
Yeah I think i should get my own clan together, maybe after i get back from thailand.

Bajer did organise missions that were suitable for the n00bs and they had alot of fun. But some of us thought that it was a bit to simple. My ideal mission would go over a weekend which would include multiple objectives, hiking, navigation etc. I would like a major challenge

It never looked like there was 50 guns there, maybe 25.

Lateo
27-12-2003, 10:25 AM
iam all for night games, multi objectives but i have to say im not LS to kie through the woods, hey i dont even mind a little navigation but you would a group of hardcore clans with all the skills, i just dont think theyre that many people out there.

Rommel
27-12-2003, 01:49 PM
Yeah, I guess there aren't many people with our skills.

Lateo
27-12-2003, 02:47 PM
lol no i guess not

and besides that we pay and come to play laserskirmish which means down and dirty fun (with T.A.C.T.I.C.S :o  ) and to do that u can't be 10 minutes away on a navex

Rommel
28-12-2003, 09:01 PM
I admit I do go to laser skirmish to have active fun, but it would be cool now and again to test skills in real life simulations

Lateo

Rommel i will atempt to run a mission for u this year but may be in larp fun but i promise it will be all u could want

Rommel
28-12-2003, 09:56 PM

hmm i am thinking now with kane not around and therefor lack of detpacks we could try my larp again. note to self get plans paranioa book to finish current larp.

Rommel
29-12-2003, 11:11 AM
ye old detpack up the arse trick

Lateo
29-12-2003, 06:06 PM
not even going to ask

Rommel
29-12-2003, 09:51 PM
during a larp kane was a demo person, and he had a fetish for sticking detpacks up the dead actors rears. He is one very screwed up person

Sly

Yeah you would know you were in NOD the longest.

30-12-2003, 01:41 AM
hehe yeah i got booted out.
obviously not up to their level of freakiness.

Rommel
30-12-2003, 10:18 AM
You got booted because you told Plan that we were all pissed and we wanted to use the guns on our battlefield

Trapper
30-12-2003, 03:12 PM
well that too

plan
30-12-2003, 04:33 PM
I Remember, Kane with Nod would borrow the guns, pay next to nothing and then bring them back damaged.

Lateo
30-12-2003, 05:59 PM
i seem to remember an elite session wher a certin clan run out with out paying
poor tytin

Yuri
31-12-2003, 08:38 AM
nod bashing time? oh joy of joys!

lol, but seriously, how mutch is it to borrow a bunch of cannons anyway, just out of interest

Rommel
31-12-2003, 10:54 AM
I hardly ever go to use the guns at the battlefield because I was always driving people around, being the only one in nod with a car.

Trapper
31-12-2003, 01:11 PM
to borrow the guns is about 100 bucks a day and need a session manager i was told (i asked plan a couple days ago to see if i could thru with my idea)

and yes it was a pain hey rommel

plan
31-12-2003, 04:08 PM
It was $100 for the whole weekend. Correct a current session manager must take responsibility for the equipment. That means Bajer, Plan, Fatty or Lateo.

Trapper
01-01-2004, 03:19 AM
just to throw it out there for people altho i don't expect to see alot of support for it becuase it is expensive, my idea was to run a weekend long session where there is hikeing and map reading and stuff involved. this would be deviod of all but staff and regular players/old school players. its just an idea atm

Lateo
01-01-2004, 10:52 AM
i hope u understand the undertakin of what ur suggesting, these things do not just happen, i fact a weekend warrior type exercise would take around a day to plan and mark out plus pre recce's, and you would need a fair amount of staff to help out.

There are of course ways to shorten all this down?

ways that refs can also play, but u would need at least 2 teams of 10 to make it any good what so ever

Trapper
01-01-2004, 01:50 PM
yeah i know, thats why i stated at the end it was just an idea. still working out all the bugs too it.

Rommel
01-01-2004, 03:48 PM
I have had an idea like that for a VERY LONG time. But I had a few extras like zip ties and POW camps, etc

Lateo
01-01-2004, 06:50 PM
u need to have an objective in mind then work out how to achieve this

Trapper
01-01-2004, 08:46 PM
well rommel if you want we can get together and see what we can come up with. it would be good to have people with different ideas see what we come up with. lateo in for helping us see what we can come up with?

Lateo
